Lodge News

  Jan 8,2008:

The brothers of Stonington Lodge had their stated meeting with brother Jim Tournas sitting in the East. John Porter was attending the type written ritual at Elyria Lodge. The minutes from December were read and corrections noted. The treasure report read and filed for audit. It was voted on and passed to not renew our post office certification for bulk mail. It was agreed that the number of mailings made did not justify the need for the certification. It will be revisited in the future if a it is needed. The brethren voted on and passed to buy 3 new emergency exit signs needed in the lodge per the Fire Marshall. Paul Weyendt agreed to order them. It was also voted on and passed that the lodge would pay for the renewal and hosting of the lodge website for one more year. Before the closing of lodge the names of the members that had not paid their annual dues for this year were reviewed and a vote was taken as to what the lodge would do with their membership. Anyone wanting to know please contact one of the officers for details. With no further business the lodge closed.

Jan 23,2008:

The brothers of Stonington Lodge had their stated meeting with Worshipful Brother John Porter sitting in the East. The minutes from last meeting were not read and will be read at the next stated meeting. The treasurer report was read and filed for audit. The need for emergency exit signs were discussed again and indicated that they needed to be purchased soon. Worshipful John Porter informed the brethren that Oberlin Lodge would like to do a Steak Fry fundraiser with us and that the profit from the dinner would be split between the two lodges. We would be doing this at Oberlin Lodge because there is better parking and kitchen we could use. Brother Jim Tournas was asked to be the designated chairman between Stonington Lodge and Oberlin Lodge regarding this function. Worshipful John Porter reviewed the events of the type written ritual he attended at Elyria Lodge and also outlined what will be looked at during our inspection. The brothers of Stonington Lodge would really like to thank the Past Masters who were present and filled officer positions this meeting. To all those interested please know that Worshipful Past Master Wendell Strunk has some ill family members at this time and was missed at the Jan 8th and 23rd meeting. With no further business the lodge was closed and a wonderful refreshment of chili was enjoyed by all courteous of Worshipful John Porter's wife and mother-in-law.
